CCG recognises ‘Marvels of Mid’ with third annual community awards ceremony

For the third year running, NHS Mid Essex Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has recognised stars from the communities of Braintree District, Chelmsford City and Maldon District in its Marvels of Mid Awards (MOMAs).

At its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 27 September 2018, the CCG celebrated local people and organisations whose work has had a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of local community by helping them to Live Well.

Dr Anna Davey, the CCG’s new Chair and a local GP, said: “I’m so pleased to celebrate the commitment of people across our area in helping others to Live Well. It’s great to see such strong community backing for the work and goals of the local NHS across Braintree, Chelmsford and Maldon.

“As I take up my new role as Chair, that backing will help me and my colleagues build stronger and more sustainable health and care services for everyone. Well done to all our finalists and winners – you’re definitely all Marvels of Mid as far as I’m concerned!”

The CCG’s Accountable Officer, Caroline Rassell, said: “The number of people and projects in our area that go the extra mile to help others live well and stay well never ceases to amaze me. It’s particularly special to share what they do this year because it’s also the 70th anniversary of the NHS.

“We want to say a huge thank you to health and care staff, patients, volunteers and everyone else in the local community who has supported the NHS over the years and helped it to develop and adapt for the future.”

Dr Caroline Dollery, outgoing Chair of the CCG, said: “I was so pleased that I could finish my time as Chair with such a wonderful evening. Thank you to Anna and everyone else at the CCG for the support you continue to give to our residents and patients.”
