Mid Essex CCG named finalist for a national health care award

Mid Essex Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has been named a finalist for a prestigious national health care award.

Along with seven other organisations, the CCG has made the shortlist for the HSJ Value Awards in the ‘improving value through innovative financial management or procurement’ category.

Each year the HSJ runs the largest celebration of excellence in good value for UK healthcare, highlighting the most innovative and successful people and projects in the sector.

Mid Essex is the only CCG in the country to be shortlisted in the category, which recognises individuals, teams and organisations delivering value for money health care.

Our place in the finals highlights a particular achievement within local Continuing Health Care (CHC).

In the past year, the CCG has changed internal process and introduced a new framework to bring patients a more responsive service, support local domiciliary care sustainability and enhance efficiency through lower costs.

The CCG has received positive feedback from patients and care providers to date.

All shortlisted organisations will now go on to be interviewed by a specific judging panel made up of senior and influential health professionals.

Caroline Rassell, Accountable Officer for Mid Essex CCG, said: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for the Improving value through innovative financial management Award. Our staff should be extremely proud of all their hard work.

“This shortlisting recognises the innovative work we have been carrying out in mid Essex to improve the way healthcare is delivered locally and help our population to live well.”

The award winners will be announced on Thursday 7 June at Manchester Central.
