Mid Essex CCG is encouraging people to think about their healthcare over the August Bank Holiday weekend. Pharmacists can offer advice on common illnesses and the best medicines to treat them, and some are open on Bank Holiday Monday, 29 August.
Visiting the pharmacist can save you time in the waiting room and offer advice when GP practices might be closed, helping you feel better more quickly.
Dr Caroline Dollery, a local GP and chair of Mid Essex CCG, said: “If you become unwell over the bank holiday, your local pharmacy can help you with more than you might think. Pharmacists are highly trained health professionals, who like your doctor can offer expert, confidential advice and treatment for many minor health problems.
"Don’t forget to order any medication you need in plenty of time so that you have a good supply during the bank holidays.”
Many pharmacies will remain open over the August bank holiday, when other services are often unavailable. Pharmacy opening hours in the mid Essex area over the bank holidays are as follows.
