Healthwatch Essex has launched a new campaign, The Sweet! Debate, encouraging young people to explore careers in health and social care in Essex.
Healthwatch Essex believe this could be a real way of transforming both the lives of local young people and of the communities they live in.
Social Worker, James Markham, said, “The SWEET! debate was a great idea, as it enabled young people to understand the variety of roles beyond being a doctor or nurse. It’s important that professionals encourage young people from the area to follow in their footsteps. By taking part in the debate I wanted to show young people that their lived experience is valuable to the social work profession.”
Healthwatch Essex is an independent voice for the people of Essex. They are here to understand the lived experience of people who use health and care services in the county and to make sure their voices are heard.
