National recognition for CCG’s forward-looking approach

A national awards ceremony awaits Mid Essex Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), which has been recognised for its innovative approach to planning healthcare.

The Healthcare Transformation Awards are one of the biggest events in the health planning calendar. The awards are run by Health + Care, the largest national integrated care conference, and NHS Clinical Commissioners, the membership group for all CCGs including Mid Essex.

They recognise projects from CCGs and partner organisations across the country that have made a particular difference to local healthcare or show the potential to bring great outcomes for patients. Only two other CCGs join Mid Essex on the shortlist for three separate awards – a testament to the high quality of the NHS in our area.

Carol Anderson, Acting Accountable Officer for Mid Essex CCG, said: “I’m delighted that the hard work of our staff has been recognised at a national level. It’s particularly gratifying as only last month, our Continuing Healthcare team won a 2016 HSJ Value in Healthcare Award for Mid Essex, and our Business Information and Intelligence team were also shortlisted.

“Having three of our projects making the finals of the Healthcare Transformation Awards shows how seriously we take our duty to give people in mid Essex the care that’s right for them in a sustainable way.

“I’m hopeful the judges, who are all experts in their fields, will acknowledge the quality of our work – and how much we want everyone in mid Essex to Live Well.”

Julie Wood, Chief Executive of NHS Clinical Commissioners, said: “We’ve been really impressed by the quality and range of entries – it’s clear that there’s a lot of good work going on in CCGs and their partners across the country, and a great deal of enthusiasm to make a difference to patients.

“We are delighted that these awards are providing an opportunity to showcase this. Good luck to all the finalists!”
