Your views on making football more inclusive

We all know that an active lifestyle is one of the best ways to stay healthy - but a few sports can feel closed-off to people who belong to minority communities. An Essex County FA survey is aiming to identify the barriers and motivation for football from Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGB&T) participants, and the most effective ways to address them.

The County FA are committed to making football accessible to all, and the cooperation of players, clubs, referees, coaches, administrators and volunteers has been sought in the creation of the survey. It will gather information to help ensure everyone in grassroots football is treated fairly, while also trying to identify how to engage with LGB&T participants more effectively in order to increase LGB&T football involvement across Essex.

The survey is anonymous - it doesn’t ask for any personal details so nobody will be able to attribute answers to an individual. It will take approximately ten minutes to complete and respondents must be aged 16 or over to participate.
