Mid and South Essex STP CCG Joint Committee
The SustainabilityTransformation Partership (STP) CCG Joint Committee is a meeting of the Clinical Commissioning Groups in mid and south Essex which is held in public and presided over by an independent Chair. This Committee is made up of the GP Chairs and Accountable Officers from each of the Clinical Commissioning Groups.
The STP Joint Committee will act collectively in the planning, securing and monitoring of services to meet the needs of the population of mid and south Essex, as well as representing the STP footprint for services commissioned over a larger area. Working collaboratively in this way will allow us to have a stronger influence and this means better outcomes for patients. It also allows us to provide greater scrutiny and influence on any decision that affects our area.
Specifically, the STP CCG Joint Committee will commission and manage the contracts for Acute services (NHS and independent sector), NHS 111 and Out of Hours services, ambulance services, Patient Transport services and acute Mental Health services. The STP Joint Committee will also play a role in decision making about Learning Disability services within the existing pan-Essex arrangements. All other decisions about healthcare will continue be taken locally by the relevant CCG. The STP Joint Committee is not an organisation or legal entity, the individual CCGs are the statutory organisations responsible for commissioning healthcare in this area.
Meeting papers will be published on this website one week in advance of each meeting. You can download them from the "Committee Papers" section of the menu to the left of this page. Hard copies will be available on the day, and during the meeting there will be an opportunity for questions from the public to the committee.
Update: Friday 13th October 2017
There have been some changes to the Joint Committee’s meeting schedule to accommodate receipt of the Pre-Consultation Business Case (PCBC) – the business case for local service changes, including proposals to reconfigure some hospital services. It was originally hoped that the PCBC would be completed by October, however it is now likely to be mid-November before it is ready. An additional meeting will be held in public, probably in mid-November, to receive the PCBC and the dates of other meetings have been revised as follows:
- 19 October 2017 – meeting held in public, 9.30 am start, Phoenix Court, Christopher Martin Road, Basildon, Essex SS14 3HG
- 8 December 2017 – meeting held in public, 2.15 pm start, Audley Mills Education Centre, 57 Eastwood Road, Rayleigh, Essex SS6 7JF
